What is the OM Chanting Program?

A great opportunity for children (6+) and adults to learn our sacred prayers and famous shlokas. This program is open to all who may be interested.

For Bala Vihar families, children are already learning most of these chants in their respective classes. This program will award children who put in a little extra effort to fluently learn / memorize the various chants. Register now to participate!

About the Awards

By registering, each child will get their PERSONALIZED FRAMED AWARD PORTFOLIO for displaying their awards, and be given ribbons and medals as they progress.

Please Note: The first two ribbons (Foundation 1 and Foundation 2) must be earned first before becoming eligible to add more ribbons or awards to their portfolio. These first two ribbons constitute basic universal and daily prayers.

What will be taught?

Various prayers starting with basic invocation, daily, and devata prayers, all the way up to Vishnu Sahasranaama, Vedic chanting and famous shlokas from Bhagavad Gita! Please see the table below for details.

How will participants learn?

1. 1. Children of Chinmaya Toronto Bala Vihar will learn in their weekly classes.
   2. Tutoring classes are open to all, focusing on basic prayers. Interested Om Chanting participants will be contacted with further details.
   3. Learn on your own through audio and PDF resources on our website.
   4. Special classes will be offered periodically for longer chants (i.e. Vishnu Sahasranaama) – these will earn special medals.
