Governance of the Mission

The Chinmaya Mission Toronto is committed to the highest standards of governance and the Board of Directors of the Toronto Mission believes that good governance practices are essential to the wellbeing of the Toronto Mission and all its stakeholder communities. The Board and its committees review and update Governance Practices regularly, oversee regular operations of the Mission, implement long-term strategic plans, identify risks and opportunities for the Mission, liaise with Chinmaya Mission Worldwide and with other Missions in other locations, and ensure that the Toronto Mission meets its financial and legal obligations.

Board of Directors

The Directors of the Board are appointed by the Spiritual Head of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide, Swami Swaroopananda. The members of the Board are as follows:

Financials

The Chinmaya Mission Toronto is a registered charity (Reg #118853456 RR 001) and issues Charitable Tax Receipts for donations.

The Mission is operated completely by volunteers and approximately 95% of every donation is used in the operation of the Mission and delivery of services to the community.

(*In 2018, the Mission’s revenue from donations, facility rentals and book sales was approximately $310,000, of which approximately $294,000 was used on charitable activities.)
